The World of One Piece grants high-ranking individuals the capacity to gain subordinates. This is done either through recruited member bios OR via assigned henchmen. While the former is determined among role-players, the later is triggered at Rank/Titles of the Fifth level. As captains automatically gain the ability to own 20 Grunts for their respective crew. Irrespective of tenure or abilities this level of grunts all have 1 AP (per attribute) and 50 WILL across the board. For every subsequent Rank up, you gain an additional 40 Grunts | +1 AP (Can be placed anywhere on the Grunts) | 50 WILL.

Davy Back Fight(s) presents the option for crews to compete against each other and increase the value of their grunts. Successfully participating and winning one results in an additional 20 grunts gained AND +1 AP and +10 WILL to all Grunts stats. However, the total AP and WILL allocation available to grunts cannot exceed 1/2 the captain's base. NB: Base AP is independent of mythical and scientific boosts and/or accessories.

Davy Back fighting clause can be triggered in standard fights or events. Applying to even Island Claim NPC or RPer characters. With the losing member joining the victor. However, in such situations both parties involved
MUST have accepted the stipulation. Once agreed, a special note must be added at the fight's start and fight submission post. This legitimizes claims and allows moderators to grade and pass rewards. As with all crew assets, Captains need keep track of their total grunts and level in their Move Sets.

Special Thanks to Member @BZA for helping me come up with and perfect the heart and mind of this system.
Special Thanks to Members @Lord of Kaos and @ReXii for helping to improve the body.

We all hope you all enjoy it.

  • A Game Master/Moderator will use Tatsumaki to generate at least 3 games for the participants to take place in.
  • A participant can choose to play all of the games, to swap between teammates or use their Soldier NPCs in place of themselves.
    • If a swap occurs, the participant (whether player, teammate or Soldier NPC) cannot come back into play.
  • The order of participation must be stated in the thread before the games are played.
  • If a participant is rendered unable to fight within ANY of the games in any round, they are unable to take part in future rounds.
    • If this results in no other participants/teammates/Soldier NPCs being able to take place, then the games cease and the winner goes to the last person standing.
  • Davy Back Fights (DBFs) start off with three games. AT LEAST one unique game will be added monthly.

ADVANCED FORCES

Rules

  • You cannot have more than one Soldier NPC.
  • They cannot be used in actual battle accept as Meat Shields (See Skill Traits Boost post )
  • The Soldier becomes the person for all of the below Skill Traits.
  • Soldiers can be any Race/Tribe and will be tied to your biography.
  • Soldiers can be given a DF or ADF to eat.
  • They can only be assigned one Fighting Style
  • They can only have one weapon based on that fighting style.
  • Soldiers cannot be scooped, so choose wisely
When you get to 100 Grunts, you don't need a player crew of your own, they are you crew. They can make your weapons for you, Navigate for you, Etc. But you have to get to 100 of each for it to unlock one level. Not all Skill Trees Traits are capable of being used however.

Each Skill Tree has their own limitations as far as how high up the tree they are allowed to go and what may be selected.

Grunts are NOT capable of using the battle portions of skill trees and cannot use the Revenue services that each tree grants. They basically assist the player in their journey to

Navigation
- Can go all the way up to Level 4 of the skill tree, however they can only choose the Discoverer branch. (Needs 400 Grunts Total)

Medicine - Can only use Level 1 of the skill tree to self heal. (Needs 100 Grunts Total)

Cooking - Can only go up to level 2 of the skill tree to ration and plan more meals for the travels, these meals won't go bad for a three good journeys. (Need 200 Grunts Total)

Engineer
- Can go all the way up to Level 4 of the skill tree, however they can only choose the Shipwright branch. (Needs 400 Grunts Total)

Archaeology- Can go up to Level 3 of the skill tree to know information about islands in the New World. (Needs 300 Grunts Total)

Blacksmith- Can go all the way up to Level 4 of the skill tree, however they can only choose the Stonemason branch. (Needs 400 Grunts Total)

Your Grunts then basically reach Soldier status and become their own Guardian NPC with stats that can assist you in your Davy Back Fights as well as story progression. When you cash in on those Grunts to become a Soldier, you LOSE all of those Grunts. They cannot be brought back unless you perform more Davy Back Fights.

To cash in your grunts, simply ask for permission in the Staff Checks and Permissions Thread

SPECIAL FORCES

Due to the uniqueness of certain Devil Fruits that grant special appearances and bonuses in relation to their usage. These need to be submitted and graded on mods discretion. Examples of canonical grunt benefits are;

  • Ope Ope no Mi; Superficial bio-modifications that result in hybrids. Be it Harpies, Centaurs and Satyrs. All of which can access non AP boosting and debuffing Bestial Arts (Level One).
  • Kage Kage no Mi; Spiritual modifications that produce the living dead. These zombies creatures can be gifted certain passives perks i.e stamina bonuses or damage immunities.
  • Hobi Hobi no Mi; Physical and spiritual modifications that produce toys. These can be standard to giant sized. The later achieved by combining several grunts. In turn combining their AP into one (or several) creations.
  • Soru Soru no Mi; Spiritual harnessed and modified creations. This anthropomorphic creations can be of any origin. Infused with a fragmented soul to enable their sentience. Strength and weakness will be dependent on grunt source. However, intense fear (Strong WILL for RP Purposes) or spiritual based attacks can severely affect grunt creations.
Due to having these bonuses however which give them the abilities to help their owners win a Davy Back Fight easier than a person without them, they lose the ability to grant the owner the Skill Traits boost.

Unlike other player's that are capable of gaining additional Soldiers, those with special forces are capable of cashing in 1000 Grunts for a chance to submit a 4th level of their Devil Fruit. This Fourth Level gives them access to a Soldier Grunt. For example.

Ope Ope no Mi; A Giant sized Centaur or Satyr.

Kage Kage no Mi; a Giant Sized Zombie.

Hobi Hobi no Mi; A giant sized Toy.

Soru Soru no Mi; A fourth Homie.

These Soldiers may be called forth in battle for a one time per battle use. However, if they are defeated, they cannot be used again until they are restored to health by paying another 200 Grunts.

SKILL TRAITS BOOST

Having a large Grunt following is no small feat and should be rewarded as such. Here are a list of things that can happen with the amount of forces you are able to maintain:

People with big crews have the ability for greater story impact. Someone with 1000 strong at 4 per stat. Is capable of taking over and Island. Especially if they are strong themselves. Add in some special gear or abilities for Grunts and you get someone like Vinsmoke Judge. A person with the potential to claim an entire Blue. Now if this is a Marine, its a good thing. However, if Revs and Pirates have it. Their presence is stronger and they'd be on more Marine want list.

The potential of NPC intervention is higher. Which leads to even more story possibility. Where you can get special rewards

A Leader of Men - This Trait is applied to the individual with the most Grunts for a whole month. Gives both the owner and their Grunts an additional 10% WILL modifier gain.

Blood Thirst - Every BBS they execute receives +100 EXP more than normal if witnessed by their own members

Meat Shield. Your Soldier sacrifices itself to prevent you from getting killed. (Can only be used in an Event)

Home Court Advantage - If you and your Grunts/Soldier have established a presence in a certain Blue, all FR have +3 LP for Points earned instead of +2 LP.

Game 1 - Speed Race

Rules
  • Two Rounds Required
  • The user's may only use their SPD attribute to run to the starting line.
  • Participants have 1 post to describe what they would do to make it to the finish line. The finish line is straight ahead and is 1000 meters away from the starting line.
  • Participants then have 1 post to try to counter their opponent's way of getting to the finish line.
  • Who wins? WoOP Game Mod(s)/Master(s) determine who has the best means of getting to the finish line successfully.

    Example of Speed Race.
    Shikamaru Nara. (4|5|5|3)
    vs
    Neji Hyuga. (3|3|4|7)
    Round 1

Neji runs to the finish line keeping his vision on his opponent at all times. Being able to see in almost a full 360 degrees allows him to see the road ahead. And though Shikamaru may be a little faster than him, Neji has the ability to foresee any alterations that need to occur.

Shikamaru would get in position to be in front of Neji but facing him and use his shadow control Spirit Power of Destruction to connect to Neji's shadow. As Shikamaru moves backwards, Neji also moves backwards, but Shikamaru is moving towards the finish line while Neji is moving back to the starting line in an attempt to win the race while causing Neji to move backwards.

    Round 2

Neji having, Observation Haki unlocked through his eyes has almost no blind spots with it and is able to see what would happen the shadows connect with him, so he uses his Custom Fighting Style that is tied to his Tribe that allows him to create a spinning dome of wall pressure around him to hide his shadow within, thus preventing Shikamaru from connecting with his shadow. Neji then simultaneously knocks Shikamaru backwards to the starting line with the spinning dome and continues to run forward. If Shikamaru tries to use the shadows again, as long as shikamaru is moving forward, so will Neji, causing Neji to win the race.

Shikamaru, notices that Neji is watching him intently but isn't trying to directly do anything to prevent him from winning the race. Shikamaru, instead of coming up with some grand scheme, simply outruns Neji to the finish line.

    Mod Judgement

Shikamaru has the better Round 1 plan to prevent Neji from winning and ensuring his victory, however Neji has the exact perfect counter to that plan.

Neji's Round 1 is smart to plan for a round 2 but causes him to lose the race overall as just running to the finish line wouldn't work because he isn't as fast as Shikamaru is. Shikamaru's round 2 is just as bland of a plan as Neji's however it is also the perfect counter. Why put in needed work when the opponent is just going to give you the race without trying?

Judgement is as follows: Victor - Shikamaru - He had the perfect plan for victory in both rounds.

    • Killing the bird means you've lost the round.
